Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

A&M, 1976. Very Good+
Quincy Jones may be best remembered for his funky soundtrack work of the 70s – but the man can also hit a deeper, more serious vein when he wants – as he does on this ambitious album-length project inspired by the landmark Roots mini-series! The music isn't a straight soundtrack from ... LP, Vinyl record album

Columbia, Late 60s. Near Mint-
Fantastic stuff – and one of the grooviest soundtracks you'll ever hope to own! Sid Ramin did a heck of a lot of work for TV soundtracks by the time this one came out – and he took all that experience, and came up with some fantastically swinging jazz tracks that have a sock-mod 60s ... Biggest Bundle Of Them All
MGM, Mid 60s. Very Good+
The bulk of this one's handled by Riz – in a mixture of styles that runs from 60s groovy to fake Italian, in keeping with the mob comedy theme of the film. The work's some of his grooviest from the time – and it does have some nice jazzy touches, plus bits of electric guitar to soup ... LP, Vinyl record album

Henry Mancini

Mr Lucky Goes Latin
RCA, 1961. Very Good+
One of Henry Mancini's best soundtracks – made even better! The score for Mr. Lucky was a masterpiece of jazzy little themes – and it's always been one that we've loved way better than Peter Gunn or some of Mancini's other more famous work. Here, Mancini redoes that music with a west ... LP, Vinyl record album

George Duning

World Of Suzie Wong
RCA, 1960. Near Mint-
A strange film, but a great soundtrack! George Duning came up with an excellent batch of jazzy tracks for the film – and most of them swing hard and tightly, with strong jazzy solos, in a manner that's similar to some of Mancini's best scores of the late 50s. A number of tracks have odd ... LP, Vinyl record album

The soundtrack to the 60s version of Stagecoach – the one with the outrageously beautiful Ann Margaret, Bing Crosby, Red Buttons, Slim Pickens and Alex Cord – with a lavish, though appropriately dust-strewn Jerry Goldsmith soundtrack!
