Ultimate Breaks & Beats Vol 21

LP (Item 9713) Street Beat, 1970s/1980s — Condition: Very Good+
Originally: 23.99
Even into its 20s, the Ultimate Breaks series is still going strong – serving up a bunch of must-have funk tracks that not only form the blueprint for hip hop in the 80s, but which also stand nicely on their own! The selection is very hard and chunky on this one – lots of tracks that break with intensity, a few with edited breaks! Titles include The Politicians "Free Your Mind", The Village Callers "Hector", Sound Experience "Devil With The Bust", James Brown "Soul Pride", Johnny Pate "Shaft In Africa", plus edited/extended versions of Joe Tex "Papa Was Too", All The People "Cramp Your Style", Barry White "I'm Gonna Love You Just A Little Bit More" and Tommy Roe's "Dizzy" listed as "LL Bonus Beat #2".  © 1996-2023, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(A nice copy!)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

K-Tel, Early 70s. Sealed
Nice one! Sure, it's a K-Tel compilation, but there's some nice stuff on here. The big highlight is "Bongo Rock" by the Incredible Bongo Band, which doesn't ever show up on reissues. It's as essential as "Apache" by them, and you get 21 other cuts on here – like "Th ... LP, Vinyl record album

Light My Fire
Cadet, 1968. Near Mint-
A masterpiece – one of 2 crazy albums in which Woody Herman's late band meets the Cadet arrangements of Richard Evans.
