Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
"Computer Game" is one of the best early singles from this famous Japanese combo. The cut's got plenty of electronics, as expected, but it's also got a wonderfully soulful groove – with some Barry White-esque strings that provide a nice degree of warmth, and help the cut hit a ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
Rod Stewart steals from Jorge Ben – and gets the biggest hit of his career with this Brazilian funk-influenced disco tune that crossed over big! The single features a special disco mix by Jim Burgess. 12-inch, Vinyl record
A club crossover classic from The Rolling Stones – a track that surprisingly got the group onto the dancefloor in the late 70s, but which still held onto most of their best elements! Although sometimes panned as a cheap disco cash-in effort by some, the tune is actually pretty darn great ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
A wicked little track that's a real classic from the electro years – a tune that vamps along with great bass and keyboards, but which also features some soulful vocals over the top alongside the electronics! The tune's got a hook that just won't quit – and a groove that's perfect for a ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
Loleatta's working here with Arthur Baker – changing her style considerably to fit his slick little electro beats on the blaster and master mixes! The single also features a mellower number in her older southern style – "Sweet Thing", which is a great late night cut. 12-inch, Vinyl record
A sweet little single with 2 tracks from Harvey's jazzy soul years! Our real favorite here is "The Race" – a sweet smooth stepper with a wonderfully soulful bounce – jazzing along at midtempo with some great mellow soul vocals over the top! 12-inch, Vinyl record
