Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible.
When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the
lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves),
and the booklet to be in good shape.
Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or
defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs —
so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.
All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws.
If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine
that it plays correctly —
and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.
A really unique outing from pianist Pete Jolly – heard here in an extremely spare duo setting with bassist Ralph Pena, on material recorded during a brief tour of New Zealand! The set was recorded live in Aukland in 1960, and features Jolly really opening up in the unbridled format – ... CD
A great trio date that has Takehiro Honda working with Reggie Workman on bass and Motohiko Hino on drums – an extremely great group that really takes off in this setting! The record is one of the freer sides from Honda at the time – done in the more open, lyrical modes that were coming ... CD
Solo piano transcriptions – tracks include "Tiger Rag", "The Shout", "Sweet Lorraine", "Stardust", "Begin The Beguine", "Can't We Be Friends", "Indiana", "Tea For Two", "Lullaby In Rhythm", "Just A ... CD
A lost live date from the great British tenorist Tubby Hayes – recorded right near the end of his too-short life, but a stone cooker all the way through! The material was recorded live at the Hopbine – but it's different than both the other 1972 album from the venue, or earlier Hopbine ... CD
Beautiful work from one of our favorite vibes players – a return to basic hardbop from Dave Pike, recorded in conjunction with soulful altoist Charles McPherson! Given the title, and the tunes, the set's ostensibly a tribute to Charlie Parker – but the tunes themselves are played in ... CD
A great little record led by Danish drummer Klaus Suonsaari – and one that features tremendous frontline work from Bob Berg on tenor, and Tom Harrell on both trumpet and flugelhorn! Both musicians really make their presence felt – pushing out with those perfectly-blown, perfectly-focuse ... CD
Karsten Vogel steps out here as more of a multi-instrumentalist than we might have guessed – still playing tenor, alto, and soprano sax on much of the record – but also adding in some keyboards, violin, and rhythm programs too! In fact, it's those programs that shape the sound more ... CD
Trio material – featuring Brand with Cecil McBee on bass and the great Roy Brooks on drums. The album's pretty laidback, but in a mellow spiritual mode that suits all players well. Brand plays soprano sax on the track "Ishmael", playing over his own piano lines – and other ... CD
Wild – but pretty darn wonderful stuff! Dizzy's recording here in one of his sparest settings ever – blowing trumpet with accompaniment from the duo of Willie Ruff, bass and French horn, and Dwike Mitchell, piano – working in a mode that's really cool, really stripped down, and ... CD
The title's an appropriate one – as the record drifts a bit lazily from track to track. The energy never really picks up, and but it's got a nice laid back, spacious approach, settling comfortably into its destiny as a set of piano/bass duets. Titles include "Space Maker", "No ... CD
Tracks include "Minor's Holiday", "Lotus Flower", "Mexico City", "Philly Twist", "Blue Bossa", "Short Story", "Una Mas", and "The Fox". Features work by Joe Henderson, Elvin Jones, Herbie Hancock, Kenny Burrell, ... CD
A classic funky soundtrack – remixed! In a surprisingly great move, Concord Records follows their re-release of the soundtrack to the original Bill Cosby Show of the late 60s with remixes of the Quincy Jones tunes by a variety of current producers! The work really steps off from the ... CD
