This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Mr Confuse has always been one of the best blue-eyed soul singers on the overseas funk scene – able to hit the right sort of modes for the music, yet never push things so much that he's trying to sound fake – a careful blend that might make others want to take note! Backings are tight ... LP, Vinyl record album
A great album of soulful tenor work from Willie Williams – with some great rhythm support from Ronnie Mathews on piano, Curtis Lundy on bass, and Kenny Washington on drums – very much in that great space the New Note label hit during the mid 80s! Tracks include "House Calls", ... LP, Vinyl record album
Killer Latin soul from Mongo! At some level, it might be hard to keep track of his late 60s sides for Columbia – but all you have to know is that they're all great, filled with pop Latin soul grooves that pushed way past his contemporaries, dancing around the conga with tight arrangements by ... Love, Peace, & Happiness were one of the groups circulating around Harvy Fuqua's New Birth/Nite-Liters assemblage in the early 70's. On this early LP, they sing with a beautiful hard soul sound, with great arrangements by Riley Hampton. Some of the tracks have a politically conscious feel, ... LP, Vinyl record album
James Brown's great second album recorded live at the Apollo Theater in Harlem – a set we like even better than the first famous volume – because it's much more stretched-out, harder-hitting, and full of fire! You'd be hard pressed to find a better example of Brown's showmanship on ... LP, Vinyl record album
Electric 70s work from Lalo Schifrin – with a tight uptempo funky sound that's similar to his strong "cop show" soundtrack themes of the time! This album's a pretty great testament to Lalo's durability as one of the great composer arrangers – sublime stuff from the late 70s, ... LP, Vinyl record album
The debut of a legend – Chico Buarque's first album for RGE, and a groundbreaking batch of tunes that helped shape the sound of popular music in Brazil for years to come! Buarque predates the Tropicalia era, but is working here in a style that clearly allowed for their later impact – a ... LP, Vinyl record album
