The start of a legend – and the very first album by Sergio Mendes' Brasil 66 group, proudly brought to the world through the godlike talents of a young Herb Alpert! Dreamy bossa pop from the A&M studios of the 60s – the Brasil 66 sound at its best! The style here is a perfect blend of real Brazilian influences and some of the hipper styles bubbling in the LA studio scene of the time – all locked together perfectly by Sergio Mendes, in the twin- ... The album's got a total of 11 tracks, all recorded at the Montreux jazz festival in 1985 – with no backing for Joao's voice other than his light lively ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the better early bossa albums by Bonfa, and one that doesn't have the sleepy quality that you find on some of his other records. Luiz' guitar is backed by a nice little combo, and the tracks have a lively rhythm, with occasional vocals, and some nice flute solos from time to time. The ... LP, Vinyl record album

Although the title and cover point to Chaves as a fairly controversial figure, especially as far as the censors were concerned, the music on this album's actually pretty simple stylistically, mostly to give a focus to the lyrics, which are sung in clear tone that we're guessing was supposed to read ...
