Leroy Anderson Conducts Blue Tango & Other Favorites

LP (Item 968366) Decca, 1959 — Condition: Sealed

(Mono pressing.)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Lonely Bull

Herb Alpert's first-ever album – a runaway hit that was the birthplace of so many groovy things – not just the start of the Tijuana Brass sound, also the birth of A&M Records! Here's What's Happening offers up a take on the sound of the young, served up by easy instrumental maestro Floyd Cramer! The mix of modes is surprisingly great – as the flowing, echoey Cramer piano turns towards tunes from some of the hipper corners of the 60s – rock and pop bits that ... LP, Vinyl record album

Miles Davis

Sketches Of Spain
Columbia, 1960. Very Good-
A beautiful collaboration between Miles Davis and the great Gil Evans – and perhaps the most perfectly realized of all their projects! The album's got a wonderfully unified feel – as it begins with long compositions that have a distinct Spanish-tinge (and not a Latin-tinge, which is an ... LP, Vinyl record album
