Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Gary Burton

Ring
ECM (Germany), 1974. Used
One of Gary Burton's more free-flowing albums of the 70s – a bit more fusion than some of his other work of the time, with key guitar contributions from Mick Goodrick and a young Pat Metheney! The album's still filled with plenty of Burton's great work on vibes, but the guitars also soar ... CD

Peter Erskine/Palle Danielsson/John Taylor

As It Is
ECM, 1995. Used
Lovely, melodic material – done in a more nuanced, lyrical realm than you might expect from the drummer Erskine if you're mostly familiar with him from Weather Report. His intuitive interplay with bassist Palle Daniesson is great, but the pianist John Taylor deserves a ton of credit for the ... CD

Chick Corea

Children's Songs
ECM (Germany), 1984. Used
Nothing childish here – as the album's a beautiful set of short, spare numbers from Chick Corea – a perfect reminder that he could still maintain a subtle approach to his music, even after years of more dramatic electric sides! The bulk of the album features short "Children's ... CD

Keith Jarrett & Jack DeJohnette

Ruta + Daitya
ECM, 1973. Used
Pretty trippy stuff – duets between Jarrett and DeJohnette, in a variety of modes that run from out and improvised, to mellower and modal. Jarrett plays piano, electric piano, organ, and flute – and DeJohnette plays a variety of percussion. Titles include "Ruta & Daitya" ... CD

Art Ensemble Of Chicago

Urban Bushmen
ECM, 1982. Used 2 CDs
A live set from 1980 – and one that shows the Art Ensemble still able to capture some of the warmth and imagination from their early years. Most tracks are fairly long, and the group move through their usual panopoly of instruments along the way. Titles include "Urban Magic", " ... CD

Keith Jarrett

Koln Concert
ECM (Germany), 1975. Used
A genre-defining moment from pianist Keith Jarrett – a record that really set the world on fire, and which continues to charm all these many decades later! Although Jarrett had already made some amazing music in a trio setting during the 60s, and in his more freewheeling groups with Dewey ... CD

Ralph Towner

Ana
ECM, 1997. Used
Spare solo work from Ralph Towner – performed on both classical and 12-string guitars, but in a style that's a bit different from his earliest material on ECM! Where Towner was once open and atmospheric, he's here almost more focused and careful with his choice of notes – echoing not ... CD
