This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Hieroglyphic Being definitely gets the "acid" right in this killer debut for Soul Jazz – because the record is steeped in the roots of acid house from Chicago, but then really takes to the skies in a bold new cosmic direction! The core of the tracks feel like the deepest, darkest ... LP, Vinyl record album
Densely atmospheric and hypnotically beat-driven grooves from Mad Zach on Alpha Pup! There's a bit more of intense electronic vibe here than the some of the more abstract jazzy soul soundscapes of a lot what we've heard on the label to date, which is gratifying honestly – and is compelling as ... LP, Vinyl record album
A really fresh groove from Dalindeo – still very much in the tight jazzy territory of their previous records, but with a strong addition of electric guitar added into the mix! The instrument's not used in any sort of cliched rockish way, but instead with this cool 60s electric vibe – ... LP, Vinyl record album
Sublime mid 70s work from The Average White Band – and a record that really has the group deepening their groove a bit – moving past the heavier funk of their roots, into some mellower grooves that are totally great! There's a great undercurrent of jazz in some of the playing here ... LP, Vinyl record album
Classic work from female disco trio Eastbound Expressway – an Ian Levine project done in a mode to rival the great female club trios from Philly – and one that comes off surprisingly well! The work was recorded in UK, but has a style that reminds us a bit of some of the Canadian disco ... LP, Vinyl record album
