Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Jazzclub (Germany), 1960s/1970s. Used
A very hip collection of older funky cuts – ones that have been sampled in recent years by hip hoppers, but which stand up plenty darn great on their own! Most tracks here should be quite familiar from recent uses of their key elements, but they sparkle even more brightly here in their ... CD

Hitop (France), 1970s. Used
The funky sound of 70s Spain! Brazil and France – a great combination! This excellent set features jazzy groovers recorded in France during the 70s and 80s – all very much in a sunny fusion mode, mixing post-bossa styles of jazz and vocals with some of the more strident European jazz modes of the time. The result ... CD

The sound of disco left no corner of the world untouched in the late 70s – and the hipper side of the dancefloor mode had an especially strong impact down in the Caribbean! Of course, that's maybe not as much of a surprise – when you consider how much back/forth action was going on ... CD

Stax/Kent (UK), Mid 60s. Used
Stax Records turned out plenty of hits in the 60s – but the Memphis label was also a non-stop powerhouse of recording, and cut countless sides that were every bit as great as their hits, but never fully got their due! This collection brings together a huge amount of those gems – 24 ... CD

Charles Hull

Charles The First
Basement Digs (Australia), Late 70s. Used
Clubby soul and keyboard funk from the 70s Aussie scene – a record that's halfway between Mark Murphy's Muse records of the decade, and some of the tighter soundtrack funk of the time! The sound is jazzy all the way through – often with vocals by keyboardist Hull or a few other singers ... CD
