Full Dimensional Sound – Study In High Fidelity

LP (Item 954366) Capitol, Mid 50s — Condition: Near Mint-
A mix of now sound, jazz & classical – Includes tracks by Les Baxter, Stan Kenton, Les Paul, Ray Anthony, and others.  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Brit easy exotica! Ron Goodwin was to the British easy scene of the 50s what Les Baxter was to that of the US – a very capable leader with a talent for impeccable arrangements of many different styles, and a mode of going global that really brought the whole thing home. Zacharius Plays The Hits
Capitol, 1968. Near Mint-
Easily the grooviest album ever recorded by German violin maestro Helmut Zacharius – a late 60s session done for Capitol Records, with plenty of sunshiney pop touches! Mystic Moods Orchestra

Highway One
Warner, 1972. Very Good
A sublime easy classic by The Mystic Moods – who by this time had transformed from a simple "sound effects plus easy listening" group into a sexy electric LA combo. This is one of their first albums for Warner, recorded with a nice sly slightly-funky sound – and it's a ... LP, Vinyl record album
Command, Late 60s. Near Mint- Gatefold
A pretty great album of groovy tracks from Toots! This one's less in a straight jazz mode than it is in kind of a jazzy easy style – similar to some of Gabor Szabo's work on Impulse from the same time, with a breezy blend of orchestrations, light instrumental solos on flute, vibes, and ... Exotica Vol 3
Liberty, 1959. Near Mint-
Sublime late 50s work from Martin Denny – his third album under the Exotica banner, and almost a deeper and weirder album than the other two! Johnny Williams

Rhythm In Motion
Columbia, 1961. Very Good+
