Party Weekend/Houston El Mover

7-inch (Item 952600) Gee Bee, 1980 — Condition: Near Mint-
Out Of Stock

7-inch, Vinyl record

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

South Shore Commission

Free Man (orig, disco mix)
Wand, 1975. Near Mint-
A bona-fide club classic – and the standout classic of the South Shore Commission! The tune's got a stepping soulful approach that's early Philly club at its best – the early days of disco, when there was still plenty of soul in the mix! 7-inch, Vinyl record
Roxbury, 1974. Near Mint-
A classic if there ever was one – a seminal 70s soul track, covered by many, and featuring the classic "diamond in the back" line! Sad thing is, everyone always thinks it's Curtis Mayfield – but it's William, and even better than Curtis! Part 2 is a nice instrumental ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Astroscope, 1972. Very Good+
Pre-Philly O'Jays, but "Peace" is a socially conscious stormer that hints at their later semi-political work. The real treat, though, is "Don't You Know". The cut's got a hard soul groove, and is a different b-side than we usually see for this 45! 7-inch, Vinyl record

Wes Wells & The Steelers

It Must Be Love/From The Top of My Heart
Torrid, Late 60s. Very Good+
The Steelers were one of the best harmony groups to ever come out of Chicago, and although they never broke as big as some of their east coast counterparts, they cut some pretty darn nice singles in their day – including this one! The record's arranged by the great Floyd Morris, and the cut ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
