Il Mondo Dei Giovani Vol 1

LP (Item 950419) Studio Uno (Italy), Late 60s/Early 70s — Condition: Very Good+
2LP

We know you're probably overstuffed with compilations of rare Italian grooves – but believe us, this one's a real standout! Not only does it have the kind of cool breezy material you'd expect from a comp like this, but it's also got a large number of tracks with a harder sound and heavy drums and guitars. Plus, the mix of artists pushes way past the usual gang that's been exported over the past few years – making the set nice and fresh. The cover art's got a bunch of Italian kids having a groovy time, which is what you're bound to do once you hear tracks like "Snap Dragon" by Montori-Chiti, "Carrefour" by Luiz Bacalov, "Happy Year" by Angel Pocho Gatti, "A Bocca Chiusa" by Piero Umiliani, "Ankara" by G&M De Angelis, "O Rugido Do Leao" by Piero Piccioni, and "Chase" by Pasquale Catiglione & Paolo Casa. There's 17 cuts in all, and the whole thing was compiled by Italian DJ Paolo Scotti. From the same folks who did Third Millenium, which was one of our faves from last year!  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Vinyl has a short click in one spot, but is nice overall.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
