Agoloyoyo Special

LP (Item 948797) Agbefe (Nigeria), 1978 — Condition: Good

A highlife set with a nice raw edge!
(Record plays with some crackles, but the music still comes through well. Cover has a fair bit of water damage, and blue tape on the bottom seam.)

Good

  • A record that you'd buy to play, cheap, but which you wouldn't buy for collecting.
  • Will have marks across all parts of the playing surface, and will most likely play with surface noise throughout. May have some other significant flaws, such as residue, or a track that skips.
  • In most cases, a poor quality copy of a very difficult to find record.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Chi Sound/United Artists, 1976. Very Good+
A perfect example of the old adage that the funkier the band's name is, the less funky their music will be! Not that the group's really that bad or anything – they're just not the all-out party jam you'd expect from an ensemble with "ebony" and "funk" in their name. The ... LP, Vinyl record album

Excellent work by Lonnie Smith – a free-flowing album of long jazzy grooves that's kind of an extension of his Blue Note albums, touches with more of the electricity of his 70s playing! Get Up With It
Columbia, 1974. Very Good+ 2LP Gatefold
Miles Davis' last studio session before a few years of seclusion – and a really monumental effort, probably the baddest of the electric period!
