Sweet 70s work from saxophonist Pete Yellin – a set that's almost as noteworthy for its electric piano lines by Hal Galper as it is for Yellin's solos on alto and flute! Galper's warm keys really help add a lot to the session – bringing in a slightly righteous tone, even when tunes are mellow – and further enforcing the harder edges of the funkier numbers as well. In the Mainstream Records mode, the band is largeish, and tightly arranged – but never in a way that's too stiff or commercial.
