Different Corners EP – Three Corners (Nicola Conte Sahib Shihab samba)/Devil Kicks (Sumo-On-Wheels rmx, Dharmaone rmx)

12-inch (Item 945702) Ricky Tick (Finland), 2004 — Condition: Near Mint-
(pic cover)

Three groovy sides of the ever-impressive sounds of Five Corners Quintet, plus an allstar bevy of guest knob twirlers – on two sides of vinyl! "Three Corners" is a pert-near perfect taste of jazzy samba – remixed by the masterful touch of Nicola Conte! The Conte/Sahib Shihab/Five Corners collabo is a timeless number – rich, percussion heavy samba that builds into a jazzier piece led by sax and trombone, and back into the driving drums for the close. "Devil Kicks" is given two runs on the B-side – a squishy programmed beat and an incredible vibraphone performance lead the Sumo On Wheels mix, and the beats are kicked into an even faster clip on the Dharmaone mix.  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

DJ International, Late 80s. Fair
Classic late 80s Chicago house pairing the warm jazzy vibe of Larry Heard's production with Robert Owens soulful vocals. An essential that really ought to need no introduction from us! 12-inch, Vinyl record
DJ International, 1985. Very Good
A real classic from Chip E – maybe not always the strongest of the early Chicago house music pioneers, but a great talent here – with a wonderfully soulful vibe! Female lead vocals make the tune a fuller, richer one than it might be from just the stark handclap beats and basslines ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
