Jump Trax (mix up, mix down)

12-inch (Item 936539) Let's Dance, 1984 — Condition: Near Mint-

The kind of pure rhythm record that often made some of the early Chicago house releases almost seem like experimental electronics! The set features two long tracks – each extended bits of beats, basslines, keyboards, and some spooky samples – with a "mix up" that moves from 111 bpm to 125 bpm – followed by a "mix down" that moves from 125 back down to 107 bpm. The b-side has a bit more vocals – almost sing/song, old school party style.  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Recent reissue.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Bouncing Latin beats and warm jazzy grooves – another winner in the Schema tradition, and the first record we've heard from these Italian up and comers! "Colpo" has a tight batucada feel – really fast and frenetic, with trumpet flourishes over the top. "Revolver" ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

A nice bit of soulful house – plus a handful of solid alternate mixes – feels pretty blissful, actually! What can we say? One of Randy Brown's greatest cuts ever – a smooth mellow soul track, with a nice little two-step vibe, and a groove that make the hook bite nicely! The cut's got the feel of Tyrone Davis or LJ Reynolds work from the time – with a nice mix of deep and smooth! 12-inch, Vinyl record
