Wild Child – Madcap Sensation Of Country Music

LP (Item 935876) Starday, Late 50s/Early 60s — Condition: Very Good+
Really great early work from Roger Miller – recorded in the late 50s/early 60s – but issued by Starday on a full album once he hit his bigger fame. The music's got that great mix of wit with an undercurrent of sadness that we love in miller – and titles include "Playboy", "Poor Little John", "I Wish I Could Fall In Love Today", "You're Forgetting Me", "Country Girl", and "I An't Never".  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Groove Merchant, 1976. Near Mint- Gatefold
Lonnie Smith's a long way from his Blue Note years here – but the sound is still plenty darn great, thanks to some fuller arrangements from the great Brad Baker – of B Baker Chocolate Company fame! The whole thing's quite electric – with Lonnie on Fender Rhodes and other ... LP, Vinyl record album

One of the harder funk albums by Tower Of Power – done with a hard-driving horn-heavy groove, slathered up in East Bay Grease!
