Saw Delight

LP (Item 932345) Mute, 1977 — Condition: Near Mint-

Weird and wonderful work from Can – still standing out way ahead of the pack, even in the late 70s! The album's a great bridge between generations – and an inspiration for some, as well – not as heavy as the early years, but still filled with fuzz and spacey sounds, refined with more focus here – and almost set out as a precursor to the huge German new wave to come – especially the electronics of the AtaTak scene. Titles include the 15 minute "Animal Waves" – plus "Fly By Night", "Call Me", and "Don't Say No".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Recent reissue on Spoon.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Todd Rundgren

Runt
Ampex, 1970. Near Mint-
Todd Rundgren in all of his great early glory – a record that's filled with simple, honest pop tunes – and one that also takes on a few experimental touches as well – but only in ways that further the earnest charm at its heart! There's a really upfront, unpretentious feel to the ... LP, Vinyl record album

King Crimson

USA
Atlantic, 1975. Very Good+
A pretty dark little record from the waning mid 70s version of King Crimson – recorded on tour in the US by a quartet of David Cross, Bill Bruford, John Wetton, and Robert Fripp. The tracks are mostly live takes of tunes from earlier albums – "Easy Money", "21st Century ... LP, Vinyl record album

Steely Dan

Gaucho
MCA, 1980. Very Good+
The last album in the classic run of Steely Dan – the final taste we'd have of the group until their surprising revival in the 90s! John Mayall's Blues Breakers

Bare Wires
London, 1968. Near Mint- Gatefold
Another great step forward for the legendary John Mayall – proof that he was never just content to copy American blues modes, and always willing to bring something new to the table! Although steeped in sounds from the delta on up to Chicago, the record's also got a hipper, almost trippier ... LP, Vinyl record album
