Your Father's Moustache Vol 2

LP (Item 932000) Fantasy, 1960 — Condition: Very Good

(Blue vinyl pressing.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Big Man
Fantasy, 1975. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold
One of the last albums ever issued by the great Cannonball Adderley – and one of the most ambitious, too! The set's a concept album – done in close collaboration with David Axelrod, in a similar spirit to some of Cannon's projects on the zodiac or the bible – but this time turned ... Use The Stairs
Fantasy, 1980. Near Mint-
Use The Stairs is a near-forgotten date from 1980 – recorded at a time when Stanley Turrentine was still steeped in the fuller arrangements picked up during his CTI years – blowing beautifully as a soloist in the larger setting! The sound here is plenty darn hip – thanks to ... LP, Vinyl record album

Everybody Come On Out
Fantasy, 1976. Very Good+ Gatefold
Sweet, smooth, and soulful – a heck of a great album from Stanley Turrentine, and one that's recorded in a mode that steps off nicely from his best work at CTI! The sound's a bit tighter than most of his sides as Mister T, but the groove is still quite similar – a warm approach to ... LP, Vinyl record album

Man With The Sad Face
Fantasy, 1976. Near Mint-
Soulful Stan – working here with some larger arrangements from David Van De Pitte, but still sounding incredibly great! The format's tighter, smoother, and more soul-based than that on Stan's CTI albums from the 70s – with shorter tracks and a bigger band – but that format also ... LP, Vinyl record album
Fantasy, Late 50s. Near Mint-
A killer record from the late 50s – and one that hints at all the sides Stan would take in later years: his bossa sides, his vibes quartet with Gary Burton, and the playful lyricism of his recordings with Chick Corea. The set was recorded in San Francisco, when Stan had that great bassist ... LP, Vinyl record album

Fantasy, 1981. Near Mint-
Freddie Hubbard makes a sweet splash for the 80s in this great little set – one of his last electric outings before a return to more acoustic modes! The vibe's a bit leaner than some of his late 70s albums, with most of the electricity coming from the bass, and from the keyboards by Chester ... LP, Vinyl record album

Tjader
Fantasy, Late 60s. Near Mint-
An excellent album from legendary vibist Cal Tjader – and one of his truly electric albums! A key factor to the greatness of this one is keyboardist Al Zulaica – who plays some amazing Fender Rhodes on the album, really unlocking a whole new sound of Cal's vibes in the process! The ... Kudu, 1975. Near Mint-
A great little Kudu set from guitarist Joe Beck – a player who's sounding a lot tighter here than some of his odd psychedelic experiments of the 60s – but still pretty darn great overall! The style is smooth, as you'd expect from Kudu, but Joe's still got plenty of edges in his guitar ... LP, Vinyl record album

Gary Burton hits a sweet electric funky sound here – a great groove that really makes the album stand out from most of his other work!
