This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
An excellent session of exotica-tinged Latin jazz – put together by pianist Don Ralke, and featuring some great work from flute player Buddy Collette – in a spirit that's very similar to Collette's own classic Jazz Heat Bongo Beat album! The set's also got some great bongo work by Jack ... LP, Vinyl record album
We don't know much about Dave Bacal, but we do know that this is a nice album of Latiny groovers, played by Dave on the Hammond, with backing that has a good percussive sound. The style's a mix of Latin and Exotica, and since the record was recorded in the Hollywood scene of the 50s, you can ... LP, Vinyl record album
Tight Latin Funk from El Chicano – a bit slicker than some of their earlier albums, and with tracks that are a tad weak, but there are still plenty of fine moments. The title track "Pyramid" is a wonderful Latin groover – all instrumental, and in a slow Chicano funk mode ... LP, Vinyl record album
Ramon Marquez and his orchestra run through a set of cha cha cha's and mambos, with vocals on most of the cuts. Tracks include "Cachita", "Los Bomberos", "El Negrito Del Batey", "Totiri Mundachi", and "Tumbae". LP, Vinyl record album
A burner of a set from Tito Puente – very well titled to suit the energy of the session! The tracks are all highly rhythmic numbers – short, but filled with jazzy horn flourishes and the kind of snapping rhythms that made the Puente group one of the biggest crossover favorites of the ...
