Duncan Eagles — Citizen ... CD 8.99

Beautifully bright-toned tenor and soprano sax from Duncan Eagles – given even more of a sense of color by the great use of the guitar of David Preston in the group – a player who often rings out alongside the leader, and really sets things off in a great way! The group's also got leaping, soaring rhythms from Max Luthert on bass and Dave Hamblett on drums – and pianist Matt Robinson does a great job of coming down the middle to deepen the sound and further expand the palette. All tracks are originals by Eagles, recorded in the UK – and titles include "Riad", "Conquistador", "Shimmer", "Taxco", "Cascade", "Midnight Mass", and "Citizen".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Robi Botos

Old Soul
Ropeadope, 2019. Used
Robi Botos is a keyboardist with a nice sense of space – one that makes for an inherent sense of groove in his music, even when things are mellow! Robi's not exactly a funk musician, but the record has plenty of currents of that mode – as his own keyboards are blended strongly with the ... CD

GO
Blue Note, 1962. Used
Seminal stuff – and one of Dexter Gordon's excellent Blue Note sessions with pianist Sonny Clark! Sonny's in fine fine form for the record, and in our opinion, he seems to be the most relaxed and inventive when accompanying Dexter Gordon – even over other Blue Note horn players, and ... CD

Caetano Veloso

Estrangeiro
Elektra, 1989. Used
A late 80s album that was an attempt (one of many) to bring Caetano's wicked work to a larger audience. In this instance, Caetano is backed and produced by some New York hipsters – all with a commitment to music, and all with names that would help the album sell well in the American hipster ... CD
