"El Doctor" is a lively little number with a nice hint of revolution – performed here by a combo from Italy, but with a very South American vibe! The percussion is upbeat, the horns punch along with the groove, and the rolling lyrics are nice and compelling – and the flipside features "Tamarita", a tune with a bit more of a sing-song vibe!  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Westbound, 1975. Near Mint-
A great goofy single from Junie Morrison, featuring the classic "buy this record" sample, which is spoken by a squeaky voiced alien to the same "granny" voice from the "Funky Worm" single. "Super J" is more stoner funk than the a-side, but it's not that bad, ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Arista, 1976. Near Mint-
Two uptempo sides by this ex-singer of The Charimen Of The Board. David Van De Pitte arranged, and the record's got a bit of a modern soul sound – which suits the General's unique voice just right! 7-inch, Vinyl record
Dee Dee, Early 70s. Near Mint-
Two nice obscure mellow soul cuts, with female backing vocals, and solid soul vocals from Ray Pettis! Bobby Robinson produced both sides, and the sound is sweet, mellow, and very nice! 7-inch, Vinyl record
Elka, Mid 70s. Near Mint-
An obscure one – as Otis does a cover of Tyrone Davis' "Turn Back The Hands Of Time", grooving the track along with a sweet style that's got a bit of modern soul, and which has his voice sounding a lot stronger than on some of his Hi recordings. "Good Lovin" is a midtempo ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

Sublime stuff! "I Don't Know" is a great deep soul harmony cut – rolling into a midtempo groove from the intro like a rare Stax gem, with some great guitar and organ riffing along with the vocals, which are sung in a mode that's raspy and sweet at the same time! "Look What ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

Moments/Mama Oh Mama
Pleasure, 1974. Very Good+
A great mellow soul tune! "Moments" is sad, dreamy, and really wispy – floating around with some spare harmonies behind David's lead, in a style that's almost in the falsetto mode of east coast groups, but sparer and deeper. The flip isn't that great. 7-inch, Vinyl record

"Solar Flight (Opus 1) has a groove that's clearly indebted to 70s keyboard and bass heavy funky soul & disco – but done with even more of a consciously cosmic synth groove – a real precursor to 80s synthesizer music! 7-inch, Vinyl record
