Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Charlie Wilson

Love Charlie
RCA, 2013. Used
Excellent sounds from Charlie Wilson – aka "Uncle Charlie", the former lead singer of The Gap Band! Wilson's great here, and really finds a comfortable space that works well right from the start – never trying to be too young or too contemporary, and instead stretching out in ... CD

Fredi Grace & Rhinestone

Get On Your Mark (with bonus tracks)
RCA/FTG, 1982. Used
A sweet bit of electro soul from the 80s – served up here by a trio who are heavy on keyboard sounds, but also get some warmer elements from an array of other musicians who help out on the set! The tunes have a nicely punched-up vibe – catchy 80s soul, but without any too commercial ... CD
RCA/BMG, 1981. Used
Diana Ross makes a big break with Motown for this debut set on RCA – a set that also has the singer making a nice stylistic break as well! The set's got Diana reinventing herself in so many different modes for the 80s – as Ross herself is sitting at the production helm for the record, ... CD

Five Star

Rock The World
RCA, 1988. Used
Five Star definitely rock the world with this late 80s classic – an upbeat batch of super-catchy tunes that has the group working at their best crossover mode! There's plenty of bassy bits to bump up the bottom of the groove nicely – perfect for the peppy vocals that percolate through ... CD

Pointer Sisters

Black & White
RCA, 1981. Used
A great step into the 80s for The Pointer Sisters – a record that has them bringing in themes that are a bit more soulful than some of their previous efforts! The album's still got all the big crossover potential of their other hits – but the groove's got a solidly soulful vibe overall ... CD
RCA/FTG, 1976. Used
Wicked funk from Chocolate Milk – and a set that perfectly combines their deep New Orleans roots with the tighter sound the Crescent City was brewing up in the mid 70s! The group work closely here with producer Allen Toussaint – and really show that stronger use of studio technology ... CD

Beggar & Co

Monument
RCA/FTG, 1981. Used
The great first album from Beggar & Co – a sweet UK soul trio from the early 80s, and one who grew from the ashes of the equally great Light Of The World! The style here is similar to LOTW's variation on American funk of the time – particularly the tight blend of jazz and funk they ... CD

Evelyn Champagne King

Music Box (with bonus tracks)
RCA/FTG, 1979. Used
Niceness from Evelyn King to cap the end of the 70s! She's really in great form here – stepping out with some fully clubby backings, and working with the mighty T-Life, who's really got a great ear for her groove! The style's a bit less disco than previous albums – some simpler soul ... CD
RCA/Big Break (UK), 1983. Used
Evelyn Champagne King will always be most popularly remembered for her massive disco pop crossover hits of the late 70s, but she progressed really nicely throughout the 80s, keeping up with the evolving dancefloor soul sounds of the times – and Face To Face is a lean, clubby electro soul and ...
