From Jamaica With Reggae (with bonus tracks)

CD (Item 928006) Treasure Isle/Doctor Bird (UK), Late 60s/Early 70s — Condition: Used
Out Of Stock

CD

From Jamaica with reggae – and a lot of ska and rocksteady too – given that this album goes back to include some of the earliest tracks from singer Justin Hinds and the legendary Dominoes! The music here comes from singles originally issued on Treasure Isle, Pama, Island, and other labels – brought together in this full album that re-introduced Hinds to the UK scene in the mid 70s – something that was hardly needed for connoisseurs of Jamaican music, who'd already been digging his groove for years! Still, the set's a great compilation of his gems, and features both late 60s and early 70s music by Hinds and the group – with titles that include "Here I Stand", "Whatever You Need", "The Little You Have", "Drink Milk", "Sinners", "Hey Mama", "Teach The Youth", "Oh What A Feelings", "You Don't Know", and "Do All The Good". Great CD version features great notes, tracing the root of all the material – plus label scans of the original singles – and 14 more bonus tracks that include "Say Me Say", "Sufferation 1969", "Mighty Redeemer", "Save A Bread", "Mother Banner", "The Higher The Monkey Climbs", "Wipe Your Weeping Eyes", "Botheration", "On A Saturday Night", "Rub Up Push Up", and "Rig Ma Roe Game".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.
