Scarlet & Gold

LP (Item 927126) Denali (Canada), 1974 — Condition: Sealed

...

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Spanky & Our Gang

Like To Get To Know You
Mercury, 1968. Very Good Gatefold
Wild! If you don't know them, Spanky & Our Gang were one of the stranger pop groups of the late 60s – and they had a style that mixed sweet vocal stylings with bubble gum pop with groovy arrangements with a vague sense of nostalgia. Tim Buckley

Greetings From LA
Warner/Straight, 1972. Sealed
A later effort from Tim Buckley with a bigger sound and more of a straight ahead approach – with a big nod in the groove direction and some R&B creeping in! Lou Reed

Transformer
RCA, 1972. Near Mint-
Lou Reed's fantastic early solo LP – melding the aloof, plaintive vocal performance style he perfected with the Velvets and unbelievable sharp songwriting with the vamped up, fuzzed out guitars of Mick Ronson, some symphonic touches, and the guiding spirit of Ziggy Stardust era Bowie. Your Saving Grace
Capitol, 1969. Sealed Gatefold
The Steve Miller Band is firmly down to a trio here – and they've never sounded better – thanks to completely kickass drums from Tim Davis, and some heavy heavy bass from Lonnie Turner – both of whom work with Miller in a style that's almost an American answer to the music of ... Vee Jay, 1961. Very Good+
A real classic from Chicago soulman Dee Clark – and one of those crazy Vee Jay albums packaged in a cover with an image of young white love! Paul McCartney/George Martin

Family Way
London, 1966. Near Mint-
A really unique non-Beatles 60s moment from Paul McCartney – maybe his first-ever solo project away from the group!
