Taste Of Honey

LP (Item 927122) Pickwick (Canada), 1976 — Condition: Sealed

...

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood

Nancy & Lee
Reprise, Late 60s. Very Good
Sweet moody stuff from the period when the duo of Ms. Sinatra and Mr. Hazelwood was electric in the studio. This was back when he used to call her "Nasty" through the headphones in the vocal booth, and when the two of them put out such spooky spooky material as "Some Velvet ... LP, Vinyl record album

Friends
MPS, 1977. Very Good+

Anita O'Day

Trav'lin Light
Verve, 1961. Very Good+
A lost little session from Anita O'Day – recorded with some hipper and more sophisticated arrangements than she'd been getting on 50s work for Verve – thanks to charts from Johnny Mandel and Russ Garcia! The style is great – a bit more laidback than some of O'Day's other Verve ... LP, Vinyl record album

Ann Richards/Stan Kenton

Two Much
Capitol, Mid 50s. Very Good
Ann's a more lustily voiced singer than the sort that usually worked with Stan Kenton during the 50s – with a deep range in her delivery of a song, and a mode of singing that's a bit more unbridled than you'd expect for someone working under Stan. This set's a lot more Ann's album than it is ... LP, Vinyl record album

Nancy Wilson

Nancy Wilson Show
Capitol, 1964. Very Good Gatefold
Early proof that Nancy Wilson was definitely on the right track with her career – a tremendous little live date recorded without any of the schmaltz or overdone showmanship of her contemporaries! Frank Sinatra

September Of My Years
Reprise, 1965. Very Good
A wonderfully mature album from Frank Sinatra – a set that has him coming to terms with his time in life, and expressing things with a beautiful quality that almost sets a whole new standard for his work! And in a way, the aesthetic here is almost that which would be picked up by a host of ... LP, Vinyl record album

Capitol, 1966. Very Good
Tender Loving Care has Nancy singing with arranger Billy May – who comes across here with a bit more sensitivity than usual for his Capitol work, especially given the 60s time of the recording! Sometimes, May is using full strings as a broad pillow of sound for Nancy's vocals – but ... LP, Vinyl record album

Perfect Angel
