Sin Tiempo Ni Espacio

LP (Item 922451) Disc Jockey (Argentina), 1974 — Condition: Near Mint-

(Recent Mexican reissue on La Ciruela Electrica. Cover has a lightly bent corner.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Jack Costanzo

Learn - Play Bongos
Liberty, Late 50s. Near Mint-
Way more than just a bongo instruction record – because even though Jack speaks a bit on the record, there's also some great percussion moments too! LP, Vinyl record album

Jack Costanzo

Bongo Fever!
Sunset, Late 60s. Very Good+
Sunset pressing of some of Jack (Mr. Bongo) Costanzo's great stuff originally recorded for the Liberty label in the late 50s. Includes the tracks "Drum-a-Mania", "Bongo Fever", "Taboo", and more! Great short hard Latin jazz stuff from LA, played by one of the best ... LP, Vinyl record album
RCA, 1956. Very Good-
One Tito Puente's finest albums for RCA, with a tight hard bunch of cuts that have a Cuban big band sound, and a lot more drive to them than some of Tito's other work for the label. Ray Bryant wrote the great track "Cuban Fantasy", and Tito contributed most of the other tunes on the set ... LP, Vinyl record album
Tico, 1964. Very Good-
Great stuff from Tito's best period – when he was really grooving along nicely, and before he got so up and angry at the Latin Soul generation! Titles include "New Guaguanco", "Sin Nada", "El Conquistador", "A Noro Morales", and "Ban Ban ... LP, Vinyl record album

Tito Allen

Maldades
Alegre, 1975. Good
One of those 70s salsa albums that grabs us right from the very first note – with warm piano lines and this strong sense of rhythm that hooks us even before the vocals come in! Then, Tito Allen comes into the mix and shows us why he's always been such a standout singer – bringing this ... LP, Vinyl record album
Remo, Mid 60s. Very Good+
The title's probably a bit of a misnomer – as this wasn't Louie's first record, but it is a great one! The record's filled with excellent original songs by Louie, many with that hard-hitting Latin jazz style he used on his best Alegre records – perfectly crafted with tight percussion, ... David Le Winter

Latin Melodies
Mercury, Mid 50s. Very Good-
Although the big New York hotels had their share of great Latin pianists, Chicago had it's own great one during the 50s – in the person of the little-known David Le Winter, a supremely talented pianist who seems to have only cut this one album for Mercury during the 50s. Although Le Winter ... LP, Vinyl record album

Poncho Sanchez

El Conguero
Picante, 1985. Very Good
One of Poncho's excellent 80s sides for Concord/Picante – some of the finest Latin jazz recorded in the US at the time, taking the torch from the New York scene, and showing that west coast players could really keep the groove strong and true! Poncho leads a group that includes piano, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Larry Coryell

Basics
Vanguard, Late 60s. Near Mint-
Early work from guitar genius Larry Coryell – and a set that's maybe not as basic as you'd guess from the title! Larry's clearly out to state himself right from the very first note – in guitar modes that seem to draw equally from jazz, blues, and rock – and which are produced ... LP, Vinyl record album
