12-inch, Vinyl record

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

"Serious" is Steady B's best material on Jive, mostly because the amazing 12"-only remix version features production and vocals by KRS. 12-inch, Vinyl record

Promo only live version with the Beasties on vocals. Normally we don't think live hip hop recordings work, but this one far better than the original. 12-inch, Vinyl record

"Funky For You", from the height of Nice & Smooth's skills, has the same type of humor and product as "D.W.Y.C.K.", done with Gang Starr. And the verses have been sampled by lots of other MC's, including the chorus for "Just To Get A Rep." The bonus here is the B- ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

Single from RZA in his early days as Prince Rakeem, before any Wu-Tang releases, but with a nod to the future in the titles. It's sounds surprisingly nice in this day and age. A fantastic setting for "If I Was Your Girlfriend" – a wonderfully nasty slow funk number from Prince – backed here by the even-better "Shockadelica" – a fuzzy, raspy number that wasn't issued on any full length album at the time! 12-inch, Vinyl record
