Oscillate Wisely

LP (Item 919622) St Ives/Flannelgraph, 2011 — Condition: Near Mint-

(Limited edition in the screened cover, #273/500, including the insert.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Hondells

Go Little Honda!
Mercury, Mid 60s. Very Good-
Hard to believe there was a day when the word "Honda" referred exclusively to a motor bike – but that was the case, at the time the Hondells hit big with their groovy little title hit on this LP! As the album's cover attests, the group are all over the (then) popular bike – ... LP, Vinyl record album

King Crimson

Red
Atlantic, 1974. Near Mint-
One of the heaviest early King Crimson albums – a set that really has the group taking off even more than before – pushing the needles way into the red with their own sort of sonic intensity! Deram, 1968. Near Mint-
Important work from Robert Fripp and the brothers Peter & Michael Giles – recorded a year before the first King Crimson album with a mad sound that's somewhere in between Bowie's early Deram recordings, and some of the Syd Barrett work with Pink Floyd! Although Fripp's guitar figures ... LP, Vinyl record album

What's Up Tiger Lily?
Kama Sutra, 1966. Near Mint-
An excellent soundtrack to one of the wildest Woody Allen movies ever made – a weird little film that has Woody dubbing fake English dialogue over a Japanese action picture! Seeds

Web Of Sound
GNP, 1966. Near Mint-
Fuzzed-out LA wonderfulness from Sky Saxon and his legendary Seeds – a garagey barrage of guitar, organ, and raspy vocals – and virtually the definition for garage rock in the 60s! It all builds up to the super-long closer "Up In Her Room" – and before that is one ... LP, Vinyl record album

Animals

Animalism
MGM, 1966. Very Good-
Pure burning soul from The Animals – a nicely stripped-down set that revels in older R&B styles – cooked up with a version of the group that features Dave Rowberry on Hammond and lots of screaming vocals from Eric B! The original Animals vibe is opened up a bit more with some ... LP, Vinyl record album
People, 1973. Very Good-
An incredible album – a landmark piece of funk that nobody should be without, funk fan or not!
