Dubbing At Channel One (with bonus tracks)

CD (Item 919231) Jamaican Recordings (UK), Late 70s/Early 80s — Condition: Used
Out Of Stock

CD

A great look at one of the most important instrumental groups on the Jamaican scene at the end of the 70s – the mighty Roots Radics, formed around the core of drummer Style Scott, guitarist Bingi Bunny Lamont, and bassist Errol Flabba Holt – a group that came together after the dissolution of The Revolutionaries! The vibe here is similar to that earlier group – a loose, open mode forged during the dub years, turned towards the slower-stepping styles that were even more dominant as the years moved on – presented here in a selection of dub tracks that really let the instrumentation flow! Lead guitar lines are played by Chinna Smith, Sowell Bailey, and others – and titles include "A Prospering Dub", "Time & Place To Dub", "Good Looking Dub", "Postman Dub", "That Girl Dub", "Pon The Dub", "Talk About Dub", and "Buying Out The Dub". CD features four bonus tracks!  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.

One of the many lost Hiero efforts on Jive. Like other early Hiero LPs this one's got nice jazzy Bay area beats and is still filled with some of the energy that they seemed to lose a bit of before their indie renaissance in the late 90s. 14 tracks counting the intro, including "Brown ... CD
