Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Fantastic material from a group we haven't heard from in years! You might know Les Hommes best from their early work on Schema Records – some killer albums from the start of this century, which firmly established these guys as one of the grooviest groups around! And while it's been years ... LP, Vinyl record album
A beautiful blend of beats, electronics, and well-chosen acoustic sources – including a bit of bassoon, and some acoustic guitar in unexpected places! These sorts of mixes are maybe a bit more familiar now – but back at the start, this album was a bit of a groundbreaker – maybe a ... LP, Vinyl record album
A very cool take on the music of Thelonious Monk – a set that's far more abstract and offbeat than any of Monk's original recordings – but in a way that the composer might have appreciated, had he lived until the 21st Century! Mast clearly really loves these tunes, and knows them ... LP, Vinyl record album
Early work from Kenny & Louie – featuring 2 albums divided up into "raw" and "club" sides, but it's all classic underground house to us. Titles include "The Buddah Chant", "I Can't Get No Sleep", "The Buff Dance", "Blood Vibes", ... LP, Vinyl record album
A surprising second album from Erykah Badu – a live recording, coming right on the heels of her first studio set – and showing that the girl's equally great without any added production work! The feel is warm, earth, and wonderful – intimate, and richly spiritual – as ... LP, Vinyl record album
A pretty sweet batch of soulful, coffee house folk pop from Blue Note upstart Amos Lee – who's clearly being positioned by the label as a potential male Norah Jones – but don't hold it too much against him! Lee's got a husky, strong voice, and he emotes in a natural style with roots in ... LP, Vinyl record album
