On Time

LP (Item 918114) Gull (South Africa), 1978 — Condition: Sealed

Warm 70s soul from Pacific Express – a South African group, but one who maybe have more of a west coast American vibe than you might expect! The music here is really well put-together – maybe on the more soulful side of the AOR spectrum, but without any of the too-polished modes you'd get on a major label – just a strong focus on tuneful instrumentation and rock-solid hooks on most of the tunes! There's plenty of jazzy instrumentation in the mix – including nice use of Fender Rhodes, and some work on tenor sax by South African jazz legend Basil Coetzee – on titles that include "I Hear Music", "Dream", "Give A Little Love", "Saturday Night", "Angel Of Love", "We Got A Good Thing Going On", "The Way It Used To Be", and "Reaching Out For Your Love".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Recent UK reissue on World Seven, sealed! Shrinkwrap has a sticker remnant.)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
