Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Columbia, Mid 70s-Early 80s. Used
An odd compilation pulled together by Columbia in the 80s, not because the assortment of tracks is especially out of place or without continuity, but because the set seems mostly to be pulled together to capitalize on reggae's popularity, though it was assembled well after most major labels had ... Lee Perry

Revolution Dub
Orange Street (UK), 1970s. Used
Like so many Perry issues, this one is pure Scratch, and by that we mean pure butter! 9 tracks in all, and though we can't pinpoint the exact source, these have that Black Ark groove running through them pretty heavily, with some nice guitar and a really spare approach to the often murky Perry tone ... CD
Columbia, 1977. Used
Peter Tosh's great, strongly strident second album – and easily one of his best! Equal Rights is up to par with the finest Wailers LPs, although this is a bit heavier than the groovy, mellow Legalize It, the more celebrated predecessor. A hugely important, essential set of mid-to-late 70s ... CD

Lee Scratch Perry & The Upsetters

Upsetter/Scratch The Upsetter Again
Trojan/Doctor Bird (UK), 1969/1970. Used
A pair of classic Lee Scratch Perry albums – back to back on a single CD! First up is the legendary Upsetter record – revolutionary at the time, still great today – and done with a spare sound that displays the roots of his unique approach! These early tracks don't have the ... CD

Bob Marley & The Wailers

Burnin'
Tuff Gong/Island, 1973. Used
Quite possibly THE Bob Marley album – or at least the record that really exploded the man from the Jamaican scene into huge global fame – thanks to a universally soulful sound that moved the record way past the barriers that were holding the rest of Kingston sounds back from the ... CD
Trojan (UK), Late 60s/1970s. Used 3 CDs
Soulful reggae is right, and there's no shortage of it here – 50 tracks worth! Loads of covers of soul & R&B hits as well as a number of great Jamaican originals, some of them funky, some of them smooth, soulful ballads. Too many great tracks to list here, but we know you're ... CD

Michael Henderson

In The Night Time
Buddah/Right Stuff, 1978. Used
Smooth mellow soul by Michael Henderson – taking up where he left off with his work with Norman Connors, and proving that he was an even better vocalist than guitarist. The overall sound of this one's perhaps a bit slicker than his first 2 albums on Buddah – but there's still some ... CD
