O Grande Amor

CD (Item 913779) TCB (Switzerland), 2010 — Condition: Used
$4.99 ...

CD

Peter Scharli's working here with some great vocals from the always-lovely Ithamara Koorax – easily one of our favorite Brazilian jazz singers of recent years – and one who definitely gets at the same vibe as some of the greats of the genre from the 70s! The backings are spare – just Scharli's trumpet, piano, and bass – a nicely wide-open setting that really lets Koorax stretch out and do her thing – carrying even more of the music than on some of her other recent recordings, and impressing us all over again with her sense of feeling, timing, and swing. Titles include "Zum Zum", "O Grande Amor", "Deixa", "Para Machucar Meu Coracao", "Wedileto", "Setembro", and "Sandalia Dela".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.

John Coltrane & Johnny Hartman
Impulse, 1963. Used
A landmark album of vocal jazz – and one of the few sessions that John Coltrane ever cut with a singer! In a way, the album's more Hartman's than it is Coltrane's – given that Johnny's warm, mellow style of singing isn't as free and open as Trane at his most adventurous – but at ... CD
