This image is a general representation of the item and the actual product may differ slightly in terms of color shading, logo placement, borders, or other small details. Used items may have various cosmetic differences as well.
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play
without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove,
you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not,
then you may return it for a full refund.
With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of
surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be
clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we
handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted
otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so
look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.
A whole new sound for The Stylistics – one that has the group working here with Maurice Starr in a sweet 80s street soul style! The approach is a surprisingly good one – and given that Starr's backings are always on the lighter side of the spectrum, the group's trademark harmonies are ... CD
A great follow-up to the Soldier's Sad Story collection on Kent – and like that one, a mindblowing collection of soul music from the Vietnam era! The CD is like finding a few lost pages in the history books on the war – as it represents a lesser-heard voice from the time, and a really ... CD
Barry White's got plenty to give here – a massive classic from his legendary early 70s years – and the first record to feature the maestro on his own as a lead act! The set's a masterpiece through and through – a sublime mix of soaring strings, soulful rhythms, and some killer ... CD
Aretha Franklin has a really classic sort of look on the cover – which is quite fitting, as the album's maybe one of her most classic records in years! The album has Franklin taking on songs by other famous female singers, but reworking nearly all of them in a style that's all her own – ... CD
Amazing work from Timmy Thomas – a southern soulster with a groove like no other! At some level, Timmy shared the bluesy and sweet soul styles of his Miami contemporaries at the TK label – but at another, he had this wild approach that often used bits of electronic percussion, in a ... CD
Later work by Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes – but proof that the sound of a great group will never die! The record was cut for the small Philly World label, but it's got plenty of elements that really echo the best Philly elements of the glory years – snapping groovers that ... CD
Despite being something of a one hit wonder, and despite getting royally screwed by the TK label, George McCrae actually helped shape the sound of southern soul in the 70's, and made sure that the Miami soul sound was heard around the world. This 17 track CD includes George's super-hit "Rock ... CD
Features Michael Brecker on tenor, Mike Mainieri on vibes, Don Grolnick on piano, Eddie Gomez on bass, and Steve Gadd on drums. A double-length set – with cuts that include "Young & Fine", "Soul Eyes", "Lover Man", "Tee Bag", and "Fawlty ... CD
A jazz classic if there ever was one – and the best-selling album ever by Lee Morgan, thanks to the use of the title track in a car commercial! Sure, you've probably heard "The Sidewinder" enough that you think you know the album already – but the rest of the tunes really ... CD
A key moment as a leader from pianist Jason Moran – wonderfully fresh original material, played with a tight group of some of his best contemporaries! The album's one of the best in the new direction Blue Note was trying to take in the late 90s – as it's got a new musical vision, yet ... CD
