This image is a general representation of the item and the actual product may differ slightly in terms of color shading, logo placement, borders, or other small details. Used items may have various cosmetic differences as well.
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible.
When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the
lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves),
and the booklet to be in good shape.
Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or
defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs —
so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.
All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws.
If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine
that it plays correctly —
and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.
The stunning debut of a really tremendous talent – a singer we'd put right up there with Jon Lucien or Terry Callier for his uniquely soulful approach to music! Like both of those previous stars, Jose James has a voice that's completely his own – a way of approaching a tune that ... CD
Badu is back with some of the deepest, funkiest and best music of her career – a mindblowing treatise for a New Amerykah – and what we'll consider an instant classic whether the world at large catches on or not! Erykah steps up this time with a set that balances the wilder impulses ... CD
A wonderful bit of jazzy soul – kind of in the mode of Monday Michiru, but with a bit of a bay area twist. Female vocalist Rad sings and plays keyboards on the record – giving the tracks a nice mellow soul feel with some work on Fender Rhodes, mini moog, and other keyboards – and ... CD
Kofy Brown's back in action – and even better than before – stepping forth with a tremendously well-crafted album – one that pushes her funky soul sound even further than before! The set's got a really classic feel – tight rhythms awash in nice instrumental touches – ... CD
A stunning debut from Havana – a really compelling set, and one with a sound to bridge a number of different scenes at once! At one level, Havana's got a smoothness that could easily put her in the forefront of mainstream soul – but at another, she also has a keen ear for a more ... CD
Great work by one of the best things going on the New York scene – the soulful Jazzhole, a great group with a really unique sound! There's elements of soul, jazz, and funk bubbling throughout most of the record – but the group's also got influences that span the globe, and which bring ... CD
Alice Russell's neo classic funk soul style gets the remix treatment – a sprawling 2CD set with remixes by DJ Vadim, Mr Scruff, Kid Gusto, Clonious, J-Boogie, Shawn Lee, Ohmega Watts, Ticklah, The Heavy, DJ Day & Clutchy Hopkins, Yellowtail and others! Alice Russell is a surprising ... CD
Starchild here sings with a group called New Romantic – a really great name, given the 80s vibe of the set! Yet the music isn't the soft electro pop of the UK new romantics – as the groove here is more funky soul, but with a slightly sexy vibe – almost in the legacy of some of ... CD
A rare treasure from Sy Smith's short-lived stint at Hollywood Records – a CD single of the excellent track "Gladly", presented here with a bonus 9 minute track that offers up a preview of the Psykosoul album – even though Hollywood later declined to release the record! " ... CD
A tremendous second set from Tuomo – a Finnish singer, but one with a voice to rival that of American soul greats from the 70s! The sound here is a bit more complex than Tuomo's debut – sometimes in a warm, laidback vibe that reminds us a bit of Hi Records production – other ... CD
A landmark album of vocal jazz – and one of the few sessions that John Coltrane ever cut with a singer! In a way, the album's more Hartman's than it is Coltrane's – given that Johnny's warm, mellow style of singing isn't as free and open as Trane at his most adventurous – but at ... CD
A beautiful little album – filled with jazz, soul, and a sense of collaboration that's extremely unique! Andy Hammill's a bassist on the British scene, and has played on a range of some of the hippest sessions in London during the past few years. For the set, he gathered together a host of ... CD
