Fat Lucy (mono, stereo)

7-inch (Item 904865) MGM, 1973 — Condition: Near Mint-
Out Of Stock

7-inch, Vinyl record

(Promo in an MGM sleeve.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

MGM, Early 50s. Very Good+ (pic cover)
A beautiful early EP release of work by Hank Williams – titles that include "Lonesome Whistle", "I Just Don't Like This Kind Of Livin'", "Take These Chains From My Heart", and "Why Don't You Love Me". 7-inch, Vinyl record

Sussex, 1973. Near Mint-
A killer from Dennis Coffey – his funky version of the already funky Lalo Schifrin theme to "Enter The Dragon! The tune's done wonderfully here – with even more great guitar work than Lalo's version – and it's backed by "Junction Flats", a number that's a bit ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Stax, Late 60s. Very Good
Of all the "tramp" songs of the 60s, this funky duet by Otis Redding and Carla Thomas is certainly the best! It sounds great on this nice original 45, and it's backed by another duet that you'll certain recognize. 7-inch, Vinyl record
Polydor, 1973. Very Good
Mad funky Mandrill! "Mango Meat" is completely sublime – a tune that bubbles with a sweet bassy intro – stating the groove in a way that's just aching to be sampled, then rolling out with an even faster, funkier, more frenetic feel! "Afrikus" is nice too, and is a ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

Young Professionals

Let's Get It On (parts 1 & 2)
Atco, 1973. Very Good
Sweet sweet harmony version of Marvin Gaye's big hit – done in a wonderful extended 2-part reading, with soaring strings, wah wah guitar, and some excellent production touches! Very nice, and the kind of obscure Atlantic soul that you'll only find on the label's singles! 7-inch, Vinyl record
Curtom, 1975. Very Good
Two of the best numbers from the soundtrack to Let's Do It Again! Curtis Mayfield wrote both tracks – and although you're probably familiar with the funky favorite "Let's Do It Again", you'll also totally dig the spacey soul classic "After Sex"! The cut's got a spare ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
