Near Mint - (minus)
Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Three works performed by the Ars Nova Ensemble, with Marius Constant conducting. The most interesting of these is "Polytope", a work for 4 orchestras scattered throughout the audience. "Medea" is a work for men's chorus, galets, and orchestra; and "Syrmos" is for a ... LP, Vinyl record album
"HPSCHD" is a very cool work by Cage & Hiller, and it's played by 3 modified electric harpsichords, designed to interact with computer-generated sound tapes. The sound is great, and the track has a very cool electronic feel that's made even better by the sharply punctuated style of ... LP, Vinyl record album
This was an installation piece at the US Custom House in New York City as part of a show called "Custom & Culture" in 1979. The liner notes indicate that "the wire was extended 80 feet through the oval of the Rotunda and was driven by one pure wave oscillator". There was no ... LP, Vinyl record album
The legendary third entry in this fantastic series from Deutsche Grammophon – a surprisingly strong showcase for modern music from a mainstream classical label! LP1 features Mauricio Kagel's "Der Schall". LP2 features the Lasalle Quartet performing avant string quartets by Gyorgy ... LP, Vinyl record album
Amazing sounds from the man who gave the world Carmina Burana – and music that's equally spooky in its own sort of way! Carl Off composed this music for children as part of as special educational program for youth – but the overall quality of the sounds is more trance-like and eerie ... LP, Vinyl record album
Quite possibly David Bowie's first complete moment of genius – an incredibly-formed album that's filled with tunes beyond definition and description! There's still some traces of the earlier madman in the mix, but the overall sound is much more rock-heavy – although not without the ... LP, Vinyl record album
A pivotal album for Dylan – featuring complicated dark little numbers like "All Along The Watchtower", "The Ballad Of Frankie Lee & Judas Priest", "I Am A Lonesome Hobo", "I Pity The Poor Immigrant", "The Wicked Messenger", "As I Went ... LP, Vinyl record album
