Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.

Bob Marley & The Wailers

Babylon By Bus
Island/Tuff Gong, 1978. Used
A classic double live album from Bob Marley & The Wailers – presented and packaged at a level that's really a cut above the usual set of that nature from the time! The group's in excellent form in a concert setting – and there's more than enough magic here to warrant the extended ... CD

Bob Marley & The Wailers

Birth Of A Legend – 1963 to 1966
Epic, Mid 60s. Used
Early, early Coxsone Dodd produced sides of groovy rocksteady, voiced by a young Bob Marley with Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer. While we don't find this material nearly as compelling as his later work produced by Lee Perry and then his huge international hits, it's great Studio One rocksteady and an ... CD

Lincoln Thompson & The Rass-Es

Natural Wild (CDr pressing)
Hammer Musik, 1980. Used
A later effort from Prince Lincoln and the Rass E's, a kind of forgotten footnote in the roots movement. Though this album is a seemingly odd collaboration with UKL pop star Jow Jackson (or at least he was a pop star in the 80s), it works surprisingly well, and as with his earlier efforts, ... CD

Rocking Vibration
Makasound (France), Late 70s. Used
Mellow rocking vibrations from the masterful voice and production talents of Linval Thompson. You may be familiar with Thompson's pledge of allegiance to ganja, "I Love Marijuana", and each and every track here, recorded in the late 70s, is of the same stature, deep and heavy through and ... CD

Kaya
Island, 1977. Used

Piero Umiliani

To-Day's Sound
Easy Tempo (Italy), 1971. Used
A gem of a record from the great Piero Umiliani – and maybe one of his funkiest, grooviest projects ever! The set is more sound library funk than soundtrack – and features some very strong keyboard work in the lead on most track – including Fender Rhodes, moog, Hammond, and even ... CD
