If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play
without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove,
you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not,
then you may return it for a full refund.
With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of
surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be
clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we
handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted
otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so
look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.
An album of dark and subtle beauty – and still one of our favorite Miles Davis albums of all time! The set's not as earth-shattering as some of Davis' other work of the 60s, but that's why we like it so much – because the emerging genius of the group with Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, ... CD
A wicked session by Grant Green – one that's very different than any of his other Blue Note records! Here, Grant's going for a "Latin bit" – adding in a trio of percussionists to spice up the groove with a bit of bossa rhythms, and some harder jamming styles that feel a lot ... CD
Another expansive effort from Bill Frisell, finding him integrating a variety of new sounds from other traditions into his new American pastoral framework. As with other recent releases, his coloristic tone and melodic sensibility are nicely rooted, but cast here in a new group featuring Brazilian ... CD
A tremendous tribute to the tenor talents of Sonny Rollins – live material from two different decades, all of it illustrating his continuing commitment to creative improvisation in a performance setting! Sonny's one of those guys you've always got to catch when he comes to town – a ... CD
Basie and Basie-ites – recorded at Newport in 1957, in a number of varying groupings with players that include Lester Young, Thad Jones, Frank Wess, Joe Newman, and Frank Foster. Jimmy Rushing sings vocals on the track "Sent For You Yesterday & Here You Come Today" – and ... CD
The second album from the immortal Tribe Called Quest – one of the absolute essential hip hop LPs, and a record that should be an anyone's shortlist of the best albums in several subsections of hip hop – just a straight up masterpiece anyway you cut it. The album is so high up on the ... CD
