A wonderful set of work from one of the greatest vocal groups of the 70s – presented here in a package that features five full albums, all in little LP-styled sleeves! The first two albums might well be the blueprint for sweet soul in years to come – the legendary Stylistics and Stylistics 2 – records that managed to bridge heartbreaking soul with more righteous currents of social consciousness, at a level that's still extremely relevant all these many years later. The other records to follow are slightly less classic, but still a strong cut above most of the group's contemporaries – and are overflowing with mellow soul gems that never get old. There's a special feature to this package, too – given its British nature – in that the cover of Stylistics 2 is different than the "black fist" cover in the US, with a very different image of the group used for the UK – and the album From The Mountain is actually their record Heavy – but presented here with a different title and cover for the UK. 48 tracks in all – including "Betcha By Golly Wow", "People Make The World Go Round", "Children Of The Night", "You'll Never Get To Heaven", "You're Right As Rain", "Pieces", "Love Is The Answer", "You Make Me Feel Brand New", "Star On A TV Show", "Heavy Fallin Out", "Thank You Baby", "Tears & Souvenirs", "I'm Stone In Love With You", "You Are Everything", "Stop Look Listen", "You're A Big Girl Now", "It's Too Late", "Break Up To Make Up", "Doin The Streets", and lots lots more!  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs. This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.

When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.

A big new chapter for Prince in the 90s – his first set with the New Power Generation, and a record that definitely has him amping up his game for the decade! There's maybe a bit more sampling here, and a groove that certainly has one ear open for the younger sound of R&B at the time ... CD

A great litle early album from Ann Peebles – rawer than most of her more familiar stuff, with a gutbuckety soul quality that really keeps things fresh! We always love Ann's work, but in these early years she has a deep soul vibe that few other singers can touch – a level that easily ... CD
