Also available
Dr Alimantado — Best Dressed Chicken In Town ... LP 22.99

Full strength roots from Dr Aminatado! In a perfect world, this album would need no introduction from us – it's classic caliber to say the least! For those yet to visit the doctor, this is the perfect perscription –in which Dr Alimantado and Lee Scratch Perry lead you through a top tier side of funky Black Ark reggae with the heavy murky Perry touch and some mad Dee Jay stylings from the best dressed chicken in town. 10 cuts, including the awesome title track, plus "Just The Other Day", "Gimme Mi Gun", "I Killed The Barber", "Unitone Skank", "Can't Conquer Natty Dreadlocks", "Ride On", "I Shall Fear No Evil".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(32nd Anniversary edition on Keyman.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Augustus Pablo

Original Rockers
Greensleeves (UK), 1970s. Very Good-
Some of the deepest, trippiest sounds from the Jamaican scene in the 70s – a classic collection of dubbed-up cuts from Agustus Pablo – who throws in loads of sweet melodica lines to the rhythms, at least in between hits of the pipe he's smoking on the cover! Birth Of A Legend (single LP version)
Calla, 1960s. Near Mint-
Early, early Coxsone Dodd produced sides of groovy rocksteady, voiced by a young Bob Marley with Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer. While we don't find this material nearly as compelling as his later work produced by Lee Perry and then his huge international hits, it's great Studio One rocksteady and an ... Wonderful funky fuzzy moogy! The cover proclaims that this is the "first album of electronic rock" – and although we don't know how true that is, the record's a nice batch of moogy covers – featuring tracks like "Grazin In the Grass", "Aquarius", "Penn ... LP, Vinyl record album
