Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible.
When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the
lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves),
and the booklet to be in good shape.
Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or
defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs —
so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.
All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws.
If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine
that it plays correctly —
and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.
Groovy 80s soul from Howard Johnson! Doin It My Way features is a sweet batch of electro-influenced pop soul – produced by Mic Murphy & David Frank of The System! The record has a very System-y vibe, but Howard's sunny approach to soul vocals really leads the way! Titles include " ... CD
Kool & The Gang sounding super-tight, but mighty right as well – a groove that still has all the great jazz elements of their mid 70s records, but which also has them picking up the bassy bottom a bit more too! The sound is not nearly as slick as their 80s hits – and instead still ... CD
One of our favorite Roy Ayers albums of all time – and an overlooked gem from Roy's late 70s years at Polydor! This set's a bit more laidback and less clubby than some other Ayers work of the period – which means it's got this wonderful jazzy groove throughout – a sweet mix of ... CD
Solid 80s grooving soul from Howard Johnson – a singer who'd worked often with other, bigger artists – but who only cut a handful of albums under his own name. The set's got a lot of production help from Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, who make their presence known in the record's ... CD
Quite possibly the best album ever from Ohio funky soul combo Switch – and certainly proof that the hope of Motown in the 80s was in ensemble group funk! This second album holds up really well, and thanks to some sweet production by Bobby DeBarge and Jermaine Jackson, the record's got a warm ... CD
Oliver Cheatham sounds wonderful here – in that best bouncy style that made him a big favorite on the dancefloors in the early 80s – a groove that's still pretty darn great all these years later! The set features key songwriting help from Al Hudson and Kevin McCord, both of whom help ... CD
An instant classic the day it was released – and a perfect blending of the group's older freaked-out style with a slick late 70s funk sound that started showing up in the work of many other groups. "One Nation Under A Groove" is a monster cut with a hook that won't quit, and the LP ... CD
A late 90s return to form for the Wild Magnolias – the funky New Orleans combo best known for their classics in the 70s! The sound here is a bit more tightly produced, but still stays in the classic Magnolias groove – a Mardi Gras-themed blend of Crescent City rhythms, soulful vocals, ... CD
Meli'sa Morgan doing what she does best – pushing the envelope for mainstream soul, but often in really subtle ways! There's a majestic sweep to these tunes that's a real surprise – a class and care that takes Morgan's music past some of her poppier contemporaries, and which always ... CD
