Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
"Seeing You This Way" is classic Minnie from her first Epic album – a bubbling little tune with a warm and soulful bottom – very Stevie Wonder-esque, and perfect for Minnie's excellent vocals! 7-inch, Vinyl record
Two great tracks by this funky genius from the early 70's. Neither of them are on the LP, and they're must-have tracks if you know Joe's work. Stone cold, and with some very tight grooves! 7-inch, Vinyl record
2 of Timmy's best early cuts, together on one original 45! "Why Can't We Live Together" is a breathtakingly sad and eerie song – spare electric drumbeats, moody keyboards, and one of the greatest mellow soul lyrics ever! "Funky Me" isn't that funky – but is still ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Two stellar cuts of early Philly soul by one of the best groups in the business! "Girls Girls Girls" is an early charmer from The Intruders – with a mix of horns and vibes that really sounds great, and some floating vocals that really send us! "Transplant" is in a ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Believe it or not, "Booty Butt" is a stone cold funky 45 – and it's got a monster groove that's just right for the format, and which sounds nothing at all like Ray Charles. The cut's a great one, and well worth being stocked by any funky 45 completist! 7-inch, Vinyl record
We don't know who Ice Water is, but the record's produced by Johnny Otis, and published by Shuggie Music – and "Don't Understand It" has a popping groove that's a lot like Shuggie's funkier work. Tightly snapping early drum machine riffs, dancing around a nice bassline, with some ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
One of the most incredible soul cuts of all time! "Thin Line" has a sound, a style, and approach that we can't even begin to describe – sad, slow, almost falling apart, and one of the most heartbreakingly honest soul songs ever recorded. In fact, the cut's so great, the Persuaders ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
