LP, Vinyl record album

(€6.77 || £6.05 || ¥901) (approx.)

(Mono pressing with deep groove. Cover is stained with a bit of flaking on the opening.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Jack The Ripper
RCA, 1960. Very Good
Over the years, how many films have been made about this guy anyway? We've never seen the movie, but the record's a gem – some very edgy scoring by Pete Rugolo, the ex-Kenton arranger who went on to do some great crime jazz work for a number of labels. This work isn't exactly in that style, ... LP, Vinyl record album
Pleasure Seekers
RCA, 1965. Very Good
A dreamy little soundtrack from Ann-Margret! The record features 4 unique vocal numbers by Ann – including "Madrid/The Pleasure Seekers", "Next Time", Something To Think About", and "Everything Makes Music When You're In Love" – plus instrumental ... LP, Vinyl record album
RCA, 1967. Sealed
Great grooviness from Neal Hefti – working here at the height of his 60s powers! The film stars Robert Morse, Barbara Harris, and Jonathan Winters – and the score's got a 60s screwball approach that mixes organ, woodwinds, percussion, and bits of strings together, all filtered through ... Experiment In Terror
RCA, 1962. Very Good
A killer soundtrack from Henry Mancini – a record that's got both the terror promised in the title, and some sweeter moments that are pure Mancini all the way! Instrumentation is relatively jazzy overall – with some tight horn passages that shift between swinging saxes and lighter ... LP, Vinyl record album
RCA, 1966. Near Mint-
Kind of nutty stuff from this weird Blake Edwards film that starred James Coburn and Dick Shawn. The material's not as jazz-based as some of Mancini's other scores, but it does have a delightfully nutty sound that's in keeping with the kind of mad 60s film it was written for. The postwar memory ... LP, Vinyl record album

One of the catchiest TV themes of the 60s – plus a whole batch of other groovy music too! Vic Mizzy really knocked himself out for the Addams Family TV show – coming up with the ultra-cool main theme, complete with low horn parts and that great snapping bit. But he also managed to ... RCA, 1966. Good+
A great little album – filled with groovy numbers that recall all the charm of the Batman TV show! Hefti composed the original theme of "Batman", and although Nelson Riddle did the real soundtrack, Hefti does an excellent job here of capturing the spirit, possibly more so than on ... Man From UNCLE
RCA, 1965. Very Good+
An amazing little soundtrack that's almost better than the show for which it was written! The set's a landmark batch of work from Hugo Montenegro – working here in a jazzy style that has lots of 60s mod touches – traces of spy soundtrack influence, but a bit more straight ahead too ... World Of Suzie Wong
RCA, 1960. Very Good-
A strange film, but a great soundtrack! George Duning came up with an excellent batch of jazzy tracks for the film – and most of them swing hard and tightly, with strong jazzy solos, in a manner that's similar to some of Mancini's best scores of the late 50s. A number of tracks have odd ... LP, Vinyl record album
Gunn . . . Number One!
RCA, 1968. Very Good
Nice 60s crime jazz from Mancini! Although Mancini's fame was made in the late 50s for his work on the classic Peter Gunn TV show, it's less known that he also did the score for the less-than-successful Peter Gunn film. Directed in 1967 by Blake Edwards, the film was a weak attempt to transfer ... LP, Vinyl record album
Moses The Lawgiver
RCA, 1974. Sealed
Mostly a mellow period score, but with a few favorite Morricone elements firmly in place: solo viola, solo female vocals by Gianna Spagnolo, and an orchestra and chorus conducted by Bruno Nicolai. Titles include "Battle & Red Sea", "In God's Voice", "Exodus Two", ... LP, Vinyl record album
