Rocky Mountain High

LP (Item 858243) RCA, 1972 — Condition: Near Mint-
Gatefold

...

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Station To Station
RCA, 1976. Very Good+
The second half of Bowie's Thin White Duke years in the studio – a record that's more cool and condense than his Young American album – but equally sublime in its own sort of way! Soap Opera
RCA, 1975. Sealed Gatefold
One of the highest-concept of all 70s Kinks album – a dark exploration of fame and the price of success, done as a mini-rock opera starring Norman & The Starmaker! As with some of these sets, the best tunes here are those that are the most subtle and less dramatic – and which ... LP, Vinyl record album
RCA/Victor, 1971. Very Good Gatefold
A key transitional album for The Kinks – a record that took them from the lighter "picture postcard" rock of their late 60s albums, into the headier concepts that would mark most of their early 70s work! The concept here is fortunately a light one – a faux-hillbilly sort of ... LP, Vinyl record album

Watch Me
RCA, 1968. Sealed
Attention Stereo Buffs! Or so says the label on this one, a groovy bit of "symphonopop" arranged and performed by Jonna Gault. The liner notes ask the question "was stereo created for Jonna Gault and her symphonopop scene or vice versa?". Check out her versions of "Good ... LP, Vinyl record album
