If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play
without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove,
you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not,
then you may return it for a full refund.
With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of
surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be
clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we
handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted
otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so
look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.
There's a definite hip hop influence going on here – but as you might guess from Peven Everett, the end results are always unique! As the title and cover imply, there's a slightly "street" feel to the record – one that has Peven rapping a bit over funky beats and warmer ... CD
A really unique record from Peven Everett – very different than most of his other work, but equally great! The "My Brazil" reference in the title hints at the style of the work – a bossa-inspired session that has Peven singing gently and soulfully, with mostly just acoustic ... CD
An excellent bit of modern soul – a smooth seductive album that fits perfectly with an older mellow groove, but which also sparkles with the best recent efforts of the past decade. Maxwell's got a wonderful vocal style – reminding us a bit of classic Isley Brothers, Leon Ware, or O'Jay ... CD
These guys never stop being great! Organist/keyboardist James Taylor has been a mainstay of the London scene for years – moving through a range of styles over the years, but always staying true to his soul jazz roots, and his love of classic funky jazz. This album's a perfect extension of ... CD
Easily the greatest album to date from Cooly's Hot Box – a group that's tighter, hipper, and more stripped down than ever before – really just a duet by this time, featuring vocals by Angela Johnson and drums and additional voice from John-Christian Urich – but working here with a ... CD
Live like a prince, but on the budget of a commoner – thanks to this sweet Luxury Soul collection, which offers up 3CDs' worth of killer contemporary soul – but all for the price of a single disc! This volume continues the wonderful vibe of the series – and provides a great ... CD
A nice one from Badu – one with a depth of feeling and genuine soulful vibes that live up to its title, despite the fact that she records for one of the world's biggest media conglomerates! It's all about the vibe here. Erykah rolls her syllables, scats and emotes feelings more than an ... CD
A legendary live set from D'Angelo – recorded early in his career, and working through a host of classic tunes that really add in a nice layer to his own great music! D'Angelo's caught here in the legendary temple of groove – London's Jazz Cafe, home to some of the best funk and soul ... CD
The fourth album by Mondo Grosso – and maybe their best to date! Unlike some of the earlier records, which noodled around a bit too much (although not that much), this is a totally solid record, with a very united set of tracks, and a heck of a lot more music than you get on some of their ... CD
A monumental piece of funk – and a record that came into the world at a time when it seemed like just about everyone had forgotten how to play real funky music! This set's the US version of the first album by London scenesters The Brand New Heavies – and although it came out in the ... CD

The emergence of a bright new talent on the soul music scene – and the debut of Gordon Chambers, better known to the world for his Grammy-winning songwriting work for other artists! Given the backdrop of his work with Anita Baker, Angie Stone, and others, Chambers has an ear for a tune that's ... CD
