Used CD Grade
We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs.
This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer
used CDs in the best possible condition.
When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the
lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves),
and the booklet to be in good shape.
Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or
defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs),
so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.
All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws.
After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine
that it plays correctly.
If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
One of the grooviest albums ever recorded by guitarist Barney Kessel – a sweet reworking of Henry Mancini's fabulous music for Breakfast At Tiffanys! The set's got a warm feel and more than a bit of bossa nova inspiration – similar to some of the other Kessel and Shorty Rogers projects ... CD
Given Barney's touch on the guitar, you can bet that a record like this hardly could claim "not to swing" – and the session's a tight groover done in a way that clearly marks Kessel as one of the best guitar talents of his generation! The recording quality of the album is wonderful ... CD
Key early work from the great Randy Weston – a live performance from Cafe Bohemia, featuring an unusual group that includes Ahmed Abdul-Malik on bass and Cecil Payne on baritone sax! The presence of Payne makes the record more than just an angular piano trio outing, and allows Weston to ... CD
Starkly modernist work from the overlooked Duane Tatro – a wonderful writer with an incredibly fresh voice! Tatro flourished in the LA scene of the 50s, doing work for Stan Kenton and Red Norvo at the time – but oddly, this album is one of the few documents of his work! Tatro's ... CD
Sublime work from Benny Golson – and one of his few hard soul jazz sides from the time! The group's a heavy one all around – a quintet that includes Curtis Fuller, Ray Bryant, Tommy Bryant, and Al Harewood – all of whom push Golson past that over-arranged style of other albums, ... CD
Tremendous 50s work from the LA scene – originally recorded as part of the series of 10" albums on Nocturne Records, but issued here for the first time ever! Steve White is certainly one of the lesser-known names in a city of greats at the time, but it turns out he's a tremendous talent ... CD
Compelling work from the LA modern scene of the 50s – two rare 10" LPs originally issued on the Nocturne label, both of which feature bassist Harry Babasin and trombonist Bob Enevoldsen! Like most of their contemporaries on the scene, both players worked on other instruments besides ... CD
Franz Jackson on clarinet, Lawrence Dixon on banjo, Bill Curry on drums, Rozelle Claxton on piano, John Thomas on trombone, Bob Shoffner on trumpet & Bill Oldham on tuba. CD
A hip little album from Buddy Collette – one that's ostensibly based around the then-popular idea of a set of Paris-inspired tunes – but which comes off with a sound that's a lot deeper than you might expect! David Axelrod produced the set – it was one of his early projects for ... CD
Classic early John Coltrane for Prestige – less a bold statement as a leader than a strong batch of blowing session-styled tracks that show how well Coltrane could hold his own with more established players! The groups on the set vary from track to track – and feature players that ... CD
