Corre Cinta Grabando Exitos

LP (Item 848635) Caliente, 1976 — Condition: Near Mint-

(Cover has light wear and a promo sticker.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Fania All-Stars

Delicate & Jumpy
Fania/Columbia, 1976. Near Mint-
A stunner of a record from the Fania All Stars – a tremendous attempt to move into a 70s soul vein, complete with Satin Soul arrangements from Gene and Billy Page! Fania All-Stars

Lo Que Pide La Gente
Fania, 1984. Very Good+
A mid 80s studio set from the Fania All Stars – and proof that the group was still going great at this time – almost reverting to their older modes of the early 70s, and shaking free of the more electric, more soul-based styles that group was using during their time at Columbia Records! ... Recordando El Ayer
Vaya, 1976. Very Good+

Ray Barretto

Rican/Struction
Fania, 1979. Near Mint-
A great album of salsa tracks recorded at the end of the 70s – when Ray was returning to the scene after a prolonged hand injury kept him out of music for a while. Despite this time off, though, Ray's in top top form – coming back to basics with a really heavy groove, picking up right ... LP, Vinyl record album

Eddie Cano

Deep In A Drum
RCA, 1958. Near Mint-
One of Eddie's best early albums – a highly percussive session cut with a small group that includes guitar by Tommy Tedesco, vibes by Larry Bunker, conga by Carlos Vidal, and timbales by Eddie Aparicio. The tracks are harder and heavier than most of Cano's pop-Latin grooves that always show ... LP, Vinyl record album

Eddie Cano

Duke Ellington & Me
RCA, 1957. Very Good+
An incredible early album from Eddie Cano – one that features his Latin tinged piano amidst some incredibly sharp orchestrations, all cooking up a set of tight and rhythmic readings of Ellington standards! The feel isn't as Latin as some of Eddie's other albums, but there's still some Latin ... LP, Vinyl record album

Fania All Stars

California Jam
Fania, 1980. Very Good+
A cheesy cover, but a killer album from the Fania All-Stars – one that's quite different than most of their other work at the time, with an open-ended jam session feel that really takes us back to the old days! Temptations

Cloud Nine
Gordy, 1969. Near Mint-
A masterpiece in psychedelic soul from The Temptations – perhaps the most perfectly realized album from their years working with Norman Whitfield! Randy Weston

Blues
Trip, 1966. Near Mint-
Trip issue of material from Randy Weston's under-issued years of the mid 60s – just 3 long tracks that are all totally great!
